Dentures are removable appliances that replace multiple missing teeth. Complete dentures are planned when all of the teeth on the top or bottom are missing or need to be removed. Complete dentures are held in place with suction and a tight, well-adapted fit to the tissues. Sometimes, especially in the case of a lower complete denture, implants may be recommended to help hold the denture in place. Partial dentures are planned when some of the teeth can be maintained.
